As you already know, we are covered financially for our uniforms. Thanks to Haynes Custom Mailboxes, The Tax House and Fitzgerald Fotography we have new hats, jerseys, pants, socks and belts for this season.
Gaffney's on Hwy K will be producing the uniforms. All you have to do between now and Sunday, February 28th is take your little tike down to Gaffney's for sizing. Let them know you are with the Big Stick Cardinal Baseball Club and they will get you all set up.
After we get everyone's sizes set, then I will put the finishing touches on design and we will get those bad boys ordered. It will take a minimum of 4 weeks from the time we place the order, so it is important we get the sizes in by Monday.
Gaffneys knows you are coming. Can't wait to get the season started!

Big Stick Cardinals Update
Well we are all signed up for SPAA Spring. Season will start week of April 19th and be completed sometime in July. We will play a 12 game schedule. If there are enough teams, as of right now there are 11, they will seperate the teams into an A and B division. As returning champions from the fall I have asked to be placed into the advanced A division.
An update on uniforms....we have approached a few different companies for sponsorship. The full uniforms will cost approximately $900. This includes hat, jersey, pants, belt and socks. Also 2 coaches hats and jerseys. I am attempting to get these new uniforms for free thru sponsorship, but we will see how successful we can be. If you have any ideas or any contacts with businesses in the area for sponsorship, please feel free to step up and support the Big Stick Cardinal Baseball Club. We have to order our new uniforms by March 5th in order to have them ready for our first game. I would like eliminate any of us paying a dime for these new uniforms so if you have sponsorship contacts please explore them. I have 2 proposals out right now and will probably put a 3rd out there this weekend.
Talk with you again soon.

Just Hello
I hope everyone is having a great week. Looking forward to a great Super Bowl on Sunday! I think the Colts are the better team and have the experience as many on the team have already been in the big game, but who knows right?
Batting practice Monday night. If you are unsure of your time let me know and I'll send out the spreadsheet again.
Also, 2 families have yet to pay the $38 for the 9 batting practice sessions we reserved. Please have the money on Monday night. Also, if you have not yet paid for the season fee of $95 per player, $75 a player if you have two kids, please have the money available Monday. Make checks payable to SPAA.
Have a great weekend and enjoy the Super Bowl!

Big Stick Christian Small Group
I keep denying. I keep ignoring. I can't keep it up. The Lord has been laying the opportunity to start a Chrisitan Small Group at my feet and I can ignore this no longer. I am sorry to those that are interested that I have not made this opportunity available sooner.
My inspiration is to get together on the 2nd and 4th Saturday each month. To identify a book to work through as a group that is of interest to everyone. A book of growth in our Christian walk. Suggetions welcome. Teri and I would gladly host everyone, including kids. The adults could take an hour or so for the study and we can send the kids to another part of the house. In addition we can take time to break bread together. I think this would be a great time!
For those that are interested, let me know. We could get started as early as February 13th.

Bat Size
For those of you that are in the market for a new bat for your little guy, may I strongly suggest the following guidelines....
Let's talk more about this on Monday night. I'd like to discuss things like bat speed, force thru the ball and the advantage of having a longer shaft at the point of impact.
- No one on the team should be swinging a bat less than 27 inches in length.
- If you are 40-44 inches tall and weigh less than 70 lbs, you should consider a 27 inch bat.
- If you are 45-48 inches tall and weigh less than 80 lbs, you should consider a 28 inch bat.
- If you are 49-52 inches tall and weigh less than 90 lbs, you should consider a 29 inch bat.
- If you are 53-56 inches tall and weigh less than 100 lbs, you should consider a 30 inch bat.
